İngilizlerin en prestijli film ödülleri olan BAFTA Ödüllerinde kazananlar belli oldu.
Büyük kategorilerde büyük sürprizler yaşanmasa da pek çok kategoride sürprizlerin yaşandığı ödüllerde özellikle The Grand Budapest Hotel beş ödül birden kazanarak dikkat çekti.
Boyhood, gecedeki iki büyük ödülü de kazanarak Oscar gecesi için yeniden güçlendi. Artık Oscar’da kimin kazanacağı tamamen Oscar gecesine kalmış durumda. Hem en iyi film hem de en iyi yönetmen kategorilerinde…
İngiliz filmlerinden öne çıkan yapım ise The Theory of Everything oldu. Özellikle Eddie Redmayne kazandığı ödülle Oscar’a bir adım daha yaklaştı. Bir diğer İngiliz filmi The Imitation Game’in ise sıfır çekmesi büyük hayal kırıklığı yarattı.
Whiplash de kurgu ve ses ödülleriyle birlikte toplam üç ödül kazanarak dikkat çeken -aynı zamanda sevindiren- bir başka yapım oldu.
